Ideal for Garden, Sprouts and Microplants
Fenugreek leaves, seeds and sprouts have been known since ancient times for their therapeutic and immune-boosting properties and are also a common ingredient in many famous Central and South Asian dishes.
Fenugreek, also known as 'Greek hay', belongs to the 'Trigonella foenum graecum' family and the sprouts contain high amounts of essential nutrients, making it a powerful antioxidant.
These nutrients include: choline, biotin, vitamin A, vitamin B group, vitamin D, soluble and insoluble fibre, iron.
As medical properties, fenugreek sprouts help control diabetes, reduce cholesterol and reduce appetite.
Contraindications
Although rare, it can happen that some people have allergic reactions to fenugreek. Pregnant women should avoid daily consumption of fenugreek, as the plant contains chemical compounds that can stimulate contractions.
Fenugreek can act in the body in a similar way to oestrogen so it may have a negative impact on patients diagnosed with hormone-sensitive forms of cancer.
How can we eat them?
Fenugreek sprouts are eaten raw and go in both salads and in the traditional Indian recipes that made it famous, among which we can mention "Chicken Masala".
Store the seeds in a cool, airy place between 8° and 20°C, away from the elements, changes in humidity and direct sunlight.
