Organic Sunflower Seeds
Odino organic sunflower, botanical name Heliantus annuus, is the large-seeded version of our sunflower. In just a few weeks, it develops robust, bright green leaves. With their sweet, slightly earthy flavour, juicy and crunchy texture, you won't be able to do without them in your recipes.
IMPORTANT:
In order to ensure a good growth rate, these seeds must be watered every day after the soaking period, compared to the other varieties of organic seeds compatible with the Babylon Garden hydroponic system.
Ideal for your Garden and Microgreens
Difficulty level: HIGH
Sunflower is one of the most popular varieties among sprout and microgreens consumers: its leaves have a fast growth rate and a delicate nutty flavor, making them among the most versatile in cooking, they are rich in protein, vitamins and minerals .
How can I grow them?
The production of organic sunflower seeds and microgreens requires more care than the other organic seeds offered for the Babylon Garden system.
Before soaking and sowing, we suggest you keep the seeds in the refrigerator for 2/3 days; this step will reawaken them in order to germinate, allowing you to get a faster and more even harvest.
After taking the seeds out of the fridge, soak them in cold water for about 10/12 hours, then drain and gently pat dry. Once sown, store them in the dark for the first 4/6 days, during which germination is completed.
By watering at least twice a day, Odino organic sunflower microplants will be ready to harvest and enjoy in 12/14 days.
How can I eat them?
Organic sunflower microplants have a delicate aroma with a slightly earthy, nutty aftertaste that enriches your recipes without overpowering the taste of other foods. Thanks to their crunchy texture, they are perfect to be eaten not only as an addition to your favourite hot or cold dishes, but also as a simple snack or base for your salads.
Organic sunflower seeds may contain traces of soy, mustard, wheat, gluten and herbs.
Store the seeds in a cool, ventilated place between 8° and 20° C, protected from weather, changes in humidity and sunlight.
